In Stack Emission Monitoring sampling is done under two method i.e. isokinetic and non isokinetic methods to measure the pollutants that are emitted out of industrial processes and fuel combustion. Dark Smoke Observation test is conducted by us for measuring pollution, checking the status of equipments manufactured, fuel saving, statutory compliance and internal audit.

SMV offers extensive experiences, reliable and independent emission testing to help our clients for the compliance of:

Environmental Quality (Clean Air) Regulations 1978
Environmental Quality (Clean Air) Regulations 2014

Our country is dealing with the problem of air pollution. We offer Air Quality Monitoring services to our valued clients in Malaysia. With our services of Air Quality Monitoring, evaluation of air quality at a particular site or region can be done. Our range of monitors and samplers are efficient and precise. Our Air Quality Monitoring services are conducted according to the Malaysian Recommended Air Quality Guidelines (MRADQG).

A properly designed and executed ambient air quality monitoring programme will provide valid data for many organization, property developers, industries and government authorities to evaluate the air quality of a particular site or region. In some instances, the situations are highly complex and require detailed measurements to capture the actual scenario of ambient air quality at site. Such measurements must be carried out at carefully selected locations using precise and calibrated samplers and monitors.

SMV has substantial experience in monitoring ambient air quality and is able to conduct survey for the following air quality parameters:
- Suspended Particulates (TSP and PM10)
- Heavy metals
- SO2, NO2, CO
- H2S, Cl2
- Acid mists i.e. HCl, H2SO4, HF, HNO3, H3PO4
- Hydrocarbons, volatile organic compounds e.g. benzene, toluene, xylene, ethyl-benzene, etc.
- Temperature, humidity, wind speed & direction
- Pesticides and PCBs, Dioxins and Furans
- Other species by request>

All the samplers and equipment used by SMV have been selected for their reliability and are regularly calibrated to ensure their accuracy.

Noise is commonly define as unwanted sound, independent of loudness that can produce an desired physiological or psychological effect in an individual, and that may interfere with the social ends of an individual or group. Ambient Noise includes all sounds presents in the environment. SMV with wide experience has conduct ambient noise monitoring in various industries.

Environmental Quality Act 1974, Part IV, Prohibition and control of pollution, Regulation 23, Restrictions on noise pollutions.

Water pollution is the most common problem faced by every country in the world. We provide efficient service of Water Quality Monitoring to our esteemed clients at reasonable prices in Malaysia. Our services of Water Quality Monitoring are widely used for monitoring the quality of water such as final discharge assessment, sewerage discharge analysis, surface water assessment, ground water and soil survey. According to the requirements of the clients, we plan, take samples, analyze and give results. Our Wate Quality Monitoring Services are appreciated for their accuracy and timely delivery of results.

SMV is fully equipped and has extensive in conducting wastewater, sewage and river water characteristic study, wastewater, sewage and river water sampling for compliance purpose, various types of surface water sampling and marine water sampling using appropriate types of equipment, tools and sampling devices. All the collected samples are analysed by our in-house laboratory, namely Safety & Environmental Laboratory Sdn. Bhd. , a SAMM accredited laboratory complying to ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.

SMV experience with the previously revised Written Approval has given us the upper hand in providing assistance to our clients with the newly introduced Written Notification and Written Declaration.

Written Notification and Written Declaration are now part of the requirement in the Environmental Quality (Clean Air) Regulations, 2014. The Environmental Quality (Clean Air) Regulations 2014 replaced the Environmental Quality (Clean Air) Regulations 1978 and the Environmental Quality Regulations (Dioxin and Furan) 2004. Therefore, Written Approval (KB) for control system is no longer applicable.

In essence, the steps involved are:

1. Appoint a consultant, if necessary.
2. Site visit with appointed registered engineer.
3. Submit Written Notification ‘AS/PUB/N-CHIMNEY’ form to DOE.
4. Installation of control system.
5. Submit ‘Written Declaration on Design and Construction of Air Pollution Control System’ form with ‘As Built Drawing’ of the control system to DOE.
6. Periodic/ continuous monitoring.

We had worked successfully with various types of industry and looking forward to work with more.

Vibration and sound are generated during rock blasting, construction, passing train and aircraft landing and taking off, etc. Vibration and sound generated from the source are propagated spherically like an elastic wave in the ground and the amplitude diminishes inversely as the distance advance from the initial spot of event. Certain amplitude of vibration and sound experienced by human can be very uncomfortable and damaging to properties.

SMV is capable of carrying out vibration and sound measurement at carefully selected sites using seismography during events that generate vibration and sound for the following purposes:

- Quantitative measurement that provides an indication of what vibration and sound levels can be expected and therefore the appropriate abatement to be taken to rectify the situation
- Quantitative measurement that provides the industries or local authority a better understanding of the reasonable vibration and sound expected, so that any future contractual agreement or regulations to be considered may be realistic.
